Transportation Specialist - Contract (V297863)

Purpose of the Position:
Plan, coordinate and implement transportation routings for both domestic and international suppliers.
Essential Functions:
To determine the best transportation mode for each operation, plant, supplier/part.
To develop routes, consolidation points with suppliers and carriers.
To prepare scope of work for bidding transportation and other logistics services.
To work with purchasing to select carriers and negotiate the best cost solution.
To monitor, trace or expedite both domestic and international shipments.
To monitor shipments as the production level or mix changes, adjusting when necessary.
To compile and report transportation cost part by part for each business unit.
Control transportation and logistics service invoices.
To develop and monitor plant budgets for transportation and other logistics services.
Qualifications: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Operations Management, or the equivalent combination of education and or experience.
Experience: A minimum of three years experience in transportation or logistics in a manufacturing environment.
Necessary Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
Preferred Skills: SAP, Experience with carriers (steamship lines, airlines, trucking companies) Experience with Freight Forwarders. Certification in Transportation or Logistics.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
