MECHANICAL FUNCTIONS:
Assembles, installs, and maintains all equipment responsible for delivering the utilities in use at MBUSI, (i.e., hot/chilled water, weld water, compressed air, natural gas, & sprinkler piping systems).
Assembles, installs and maintains electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial processing systems on basis of knowledge of system operation and study of building plans or working drawings.
Troubleshoot, repair, & maintain all building and process HVAC systems and their operations.
Supports the installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment in the assigned work area by performing any combination of the following tasks according to specifications while using the necessary equipment:
Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings, using mechanical hoists, lift trucks, mobile cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and proper installation techniques.
Assembles, installs, repairs & maintains, all conveyor equipment such as roller beds, lifts, belt & chain conveyors, power & free systems, pallet systems, electrified mono-rail, etc., using hand and power tools.
Performs analysis of all failures and reports to management with recommended countermeasures; completes the entry of equipment downtime in the SAP system and/or the downtime problem solving sheet listing all applicable root causes.
ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS:
Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and all components that make up these systems; including but not limited to motors, transformers, switches, control relays, field instruments, etc.)
Capable of using the following examples of troubleshooting techniques:
Locates and determines the electrical malfunction using test instruments such as ammeters, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters. Reads & utilizes electrical drawings to analyze circuits.
Repairs, maintains, & installs robots & robotic systems including all application/field equipment utilized in the systems. Operates and programs robots in accordance with shop needs.
Troubleshoots problems and programs a variety of programmable logic controllers (line PLCs,
Safety PLCs), using laptop computers, hand held instrumentation and HMIs.
Responsible for installing, maintaining & troubleshooting field bus networks (Device Net, Control Net, Ether Net, Profibus, Profinet, Profisafe, Interbus, and Safety Bus).
Have basic computer skills in a Windows environment and SAP system.
QUALIFICATIONS
2 (two) year technical degree from a certified Trade School or Technical College in Industrial Electronics/Electrical fields or an accredited Maintenance Apprenticeship Program plus 1 year of experience in a related industrial manufacturing maintenance position.
OR
Experience with No Degree: A total of Six (6) years of experience in a related Industrial Manufacturing Environment.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Skilled Trades Electrical Journeymen Status or obtain trade school, technical college, or apprenticeship certificate or applicable experience. Candidate must be able to work in a multi-skilled environment with maintenance aptitude to learn skilled trades other than the specific area of expertise and be present and able to perform the essential functions of the job. All candidates must successfully pass a STANDARD Maintenance On-Line Test and a Hands-On Test which involves subjects related to this position.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to perform strong electrical skills including PLCs, troubleshooting ladder logic, wiring diagrams, basic PC skills, and associated mechanical skills such as power transfer, basic welding, machine shop, equipment rebuild and use of hand tools, etc.
Possess a basic understanding of robotics programming and maintenance:
Robot Teaching & Programming Paths (KUKA or ABB preferred), maintaining tool center point systems, re-mastering axes and end of tool device fabrication, repair/rebuild.
Strong Network/Field Bus troubleshooting skills (Rockwell Control Net/Device Net, Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet) including software applications (RS Networks, Factory Talk View, Simantic Manager and iDPro).
Strong PLC skills including troubleshooting ladder logic & function block based systems including programming sequences to control machine operations including Safety PLC systems knowledge.
Vision systems knowledge as applied to Robotic Applications for path offset or robot guidance (Perceptron, ISRA).
Robotic Joining systems knowledge including Spot, Stud, MIG, MAG, Riveting & Laser Welding systems. Includes skills in hardware and software systems (Bosch, Trumpf and Robscan preferred).
Strong skills in frequency drives, both troubleshooting, programming & setup. (SEW, Emerson, Allen Bradley, Lenze).
