Purpose of the Position:
To actively manage the localization process of our supply base and develop measures to further increase the local content, optimize material costs and maintain the cost status during the change management process. All while focusing on deep localization, cost, quality and highest technological standards.
Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Localization and Local Content: Ensuring the success of all existing and future locally produced vehicles by developing localization strategies for purchased parts. Applying target costing processes for local material in comparison to globally sourced components and improving material costs. Driving specific localization and material cost efficiency projects and ensuring the appropriate reporting on management level and the achievement of the aligned targets. Initiate and execute cross-functional workshops with local supply base to identify, propose and implement cost saving measures.
Participation in the sourcing process for all localized programs in cooperation with the local RD and purchasing organization. Ensuring that sourcing decisions are made according to the commodity strategy, the supplier quality, capacity performance indicators and the localization and cost targets.
Developing a local supply base knowledge to propose suppliers by communicating with responsible purchasing organization. Preparation and presenting of key supplier information.
Coordinate with Development, Quality, Logistics, Sales and Cost Planning, with a strategic consideration of the supplier and product portfolio as well as the direction of the supply chain in relationship to our global markets. Influence decisions to account for sustainability of supply and ethical fundamentals as well as the achievement of cost objectives for new business, changes, or cost optimizations in the current series.
Preparation of decision-relevant documentation pertaining to the awarding of contracts to development suppliers and series suppliers for the relevant committees of new product projects.
Preparation and direction of negotiations for the responsible purchasing scopes of global suppliers.
Development and presentation of cost and market analysis. Development of sourcing, localization, supplier, and material group strategies for the above mentioned areas.
Representing purchasing within module group work (CLT) and active participation in the development of module strategies. Cross-departmental coordination and development of purchasing-specific tasks (i.e. change management) based on guidelines and standards of purchasing processes and systems.
Coordination with purchasing teams for the local components to discuss a model of volume bundling activities. Contact person between purchasing teams of Germany and NAFTA Hub for certain commodities.
Training of team members in MP purchasing processes and developing of processes for the interface between MBUSI and MP.
Further essential functions are described in current annual plan / goal agreements.

Performs other related duties as required.
Readiness to travel for extended time periods to suppliers and Daimler facilities worldwide is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education: Bachelors of Science degree or a related area and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing suppliers and in cost analyses or equivalent relative to the area of responsibility.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, and ability to close projects on time.
Possess excellent project management and problem solving abilities.
Possess highly developed oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
Experience influencing stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to bring innovation to current processes and show a continuous improvement mindset.
Demonstrated ability of being highly motivated, goal oriented, and possess the ability to work in a cross functional international team environment.
Possess skills for oral and written presentation of working results on management level.
Ability to plan and moderate cross-departmental supplier workshops.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes of automotive components.
Ability to analyze parts' cost structure and prepare cost comparison sheets for automotive components.
Knowledge of automotive supply base in NAFTA.
MP process knowledge and MP network.
Preferred Skills:
Purchasing processes / new product launch methods / change management / supplier management / reading and writing competency / cost analysis and calculation methods

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
