Logistics Coordinator
Contract position: Logistics Specialist position with a large manufacturing client located South of the Birmingham, AL area. This position will be responsible to track and expedite analysis of inventory levels and manage the interface between the Plant, Sales, port processors, freight forwarders, and customs to ensure the product is delivered on time.
Responsibilities for the Logistics Coordinator
+ Analysis and daily reporting of inventory levels and make recommendations to manage the inventory level including development of solutions and alternatives to return stock levels to target values
+ Create, review and ensure the required export documents for product shipping via air, sea, and truck outside the US are completed and meet current US and Foreign customs regulations and guidelines
+ Manage the relationship between the export broker, sales markets, and internal customers to provide information regarding the status and/or location of products
+ Develop inventory forecasts for marshalling yard, shipping lines, port processors, freight forwarder, for use by management and project teams for planning future product launches
+ Analyze and maintain critical data in a variety of IT Systems
+ May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements for the Logistics Coordinator
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience
+ Approximately 3 or more years of experience in Logistics; preferably with an automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or supplier
+ Experience in production control, vehicle order processing, program planning, engineering change/project controlling, product scheduling and project management
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
+ Ability to travel if needed
+ Experience in transportation, and customs is a plus
